Hello Loves! Easter is behind us now, which typically means in Texas, so is the cold weather. Halle-freakin-lujah!!!! After Easter is when I finally start to thaw out from the winter so, in my mind, it totally warrants a celebration. (A little dramatic, I know!) Give me open-toed shoes, white jeans and 90 degree plus weather and I’m a happy girl.
So, today I am sharing my 5 favorite ways to celebrate the warmer temps and of course it includes a little retail therapy.
A GREAT NEW PAIR OF SANDALS
New Spring/Summer trends are out and it is a perfect time to invest in a great pair of sandals that you can wear for the next few months. I ordered these Steve Madden sandals and I am in love!
BRIGHT NAIL POLISH AND A PEDICURE
We can’t talk open-toed shoes without addressing the little, probably neglected, piggies. Get to your favorite pedicure place and show your feet some much needed love! I picked up this pretty blue nail polish from Deborah Lippman the other day. It is a really fun color for this year.
A NEW PAIR OF WHITE JEANS
I am so glad the fashion rule of waiting to wear white until after Memorial Day is long gone because there is something about this time of year that gets me in full-on white mode. I recently purchased Madewell’s 9” high-rise skinny jeans in white. Third pair of this style I own and they never disappoint. Way worth the investment.
NEW THROW PILLOWS
I can’t get through this post without talking home at least a little! Now is the time to change up some things around the house and my favorite way to do this that packs a punch is changing out throw pillows on your bed and sofa. It can be pretty inexpensive to do this but the effect is huge! I picked up a couple of Risa throw pillows at Anthropologie a month or so back. If you aren’t wanting to spend quite as much money, I have a ton of luck at TJ Maxx or Marshalls Homegoods for this kind of thing.
Switching gears on you here…last, but definitely not least, is checking in with yourself. It is quite different from the previous four but just as, if not more, important. Most of us made some sort of New Year’s resolutions or set out goals for this year - how are we doing with those? Are we finding a groove…or a rut? One thing my husband tells me is “Recognize, Release, Refocus." Now is a great time of year to do just that.
If you’re a warm weather gal as much as I am I’d love to hear your favorite ways you welcome in the warmer temps. Always looking for more ways to celebrate!
